“I Wanted Him to Have a Good Home”, UPS Driver Adopted a Dog Jumping Onto His Car
This is a story of meeting. Sometimes, though hard to explain, we feel a strangely strong strike of affection toward an unknown at the very first sight. This is what happened in the building of friendship between Jason Coronado and Ernie.
Jason Coronado, a New York UPS driver, was on the routes of package delivery when he encountered Ernie, a pitbull-terrier mix living in the Buffalo City Animal Shelter.
“[I] call him up to the truck, and he pretty much just hopped up in,” Coronado told the WKBW. And the pup didn’t want to leave. It sat there as a working companion to the driver who used to be alone during the delivery.
“He is probably my idea of a perfect dog,” Jason Coronado said with surprise.
Though they eventually had to say goodbye that day, Coronado could not help thinking about this cute puppy. He had not planned on having any pet at all, but this unexpected encounter made him change his mind.
“I wanted him to have a good home,” the driver wished.
He then talked with his family about adopting a pet and they gave him 100% agreement. Days later, he got Ernie back home from the shelter.
“He likes to sleep and lounge, and he likes to eat treats, and he’s just a big lap dog,” Coronado told WKBW. Obviously they have been keeping each other a close companion.
