Watch out! Someone is harboring bad thoughts about your pets!
Life is precious to every living thing, to man and to dogs and cats. But obviously, not everyone thinks so. Although I can’t work out why there are someone would torture and kill defenceless cats and dogs for sport, those people who let me feel sick are really exist!
On August 3rd, Thurston County Animal Services said that there is another pet cat was found dead and mutilated in Olympia. The body of the victim cat was left on a front lawn, who was proved had been strangled before being cut open and her spine removed. No blood was found at the scene, so investigators believe it was killed elsewhere and then displayed the body in a public place where it could be seen.
It happens that there are more similar cases before. Investigators believe this latest killing is created by the same person responsible for another five cat mutilations in Thurston County and possibly one in Port Angeles.
Thurston County law enforcement says someone, or a group of people, have intentionally mutilated five cats, leaving the bodies to be discovered in public places.
The first case is happened in Port Angeles. The body of the cat, named Tarot, was found in the playground and picnic area of Shane Park. Debbie Drake, the cat’s owner said:“We lost a member of our family in an unimaginable way. I haven’t been able to make sense of it. It’s not something a normal person can wrap their head around — how somebody can do something so horrendous.” The cat’s death is being investigated as first-degree animal cruelty, a Class C felony.
When sorrows come, they come not singly, but in battalions. Last month, a shocking case of four cats having been found mutilated since February in Lacey, Olympia and Tumwater has caused concern. The circumstances are similar to what happened in Port Angeles. “The animals were put on display after their deaths in a very public place, that means they were left out in the open for people to find; intentionally,” the investigator said. And the cuts on the animals are too clean to be an accident, so that they know it’s a person or a group people doing this to the cats. Even they found a surgical glove next to the body of the dead cat in one instance.
There are no words that can convey the compassion I feel for those animals, and the utter shame I feel for those people who is so broken and sick that did this to living breathing, beautiful beings! That animals all have a heart to beat, lungs the breathe, nerves the feel, and a mind to think. That animals all have the feeling to suffer pain, sadness, and emotion. There too many abusers even don’t realize that what they did is seriously wrong. We need to popularize the right concepts to them and root out cruelty like this in our society.
Adults who abuse animals are generally have lots of psychological pressures caused by the inability to handle various emotions in the social reality. When psychological pressure reaches a certain degree, it is necessary for them to seek a target object to release stress, with conscious or unconscious. The kind of almost abnormal pressure released may be on his own, also may be happened for a close relative, that is, self-harm or child abuse. This is what psychology calls “following the principle of stress release,” but this is a sign of incompetence. There are many ways to release pressure, abusing animals is not a right way to release pressure but, on the contrary, it will make those people more and more extreme, violent, irritable, withdrawn, even be hostile to society and indifferent to family relations.
Cruelty to animals is an insult to life. Animal abuse is not only the violence against animals, but is also closely related to other forms of violence. The emphasis on animal abuse is not just about the safety of animals, but an important step in ending the cycle of violence.
Individual animal abuse cases are closely related to the occurrence of various types of social violence crimes. They should not be regarded as a single individual animal life injury. The handling of animal abuse cannot be considered as making a fuss, but an alarm of the possibility of different violent crimes. All walks of life should give it high priority and action response, carrying out humane education to effectively prevent the occurrence of animal abuse and other forms of violence.
Although we cannot ask everyone to love animals with a heart, respect for each life is the quality and attitude that mentally healthy people should have. The attitude towards the life of small animals can also reflect one’s attitude towards human life. Everyone will face pressure, but it is irresponsible to release the pressure in life in such a way. It is also detrimental to the development of mental health, and impossible to solve psychological problems fundamentally.
